New Venture Launches, 2006: Interkinetic Technologies and MSDX
Both companies developed plans to commercialize patented technology, one for wireless energy transfer, and the other for a multiple sclerosis blood test.

The founder of Barcoding, Inc. was named Maryland's 2006 Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of the Year.

The Success of the McGuire Center

Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review rank the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship the No. 1 program in the nation.The McGuire Entrepreneurship Program is the #1 ranked undergraduate program in the nation according to Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, and is ranked #6 in the world at the graduate level by Financial Times. The McGuire Center is also one of only four schools to remain in the top-tier grouping for four consecutive years.

The entrepreneurship program ranks #2 among public programs and #6 overall in the U.S. News & World Report undergraduate business school rankings. In the U.S. News graduate business school rankings, the program ranks #6 among public schools and #13 overall.
